SDE 2 - Flutter Developer (Interactive Games)
About the role
We're building interactive games and playful experiences in our flutter app, and we're looking for a developer who cares as much about how something feels as whether it works. You'll own features end to end, from the first prototype to the polished, ship-it version. If you like tight feedback loops, creative ownership, and the occasional slightly cursed game idea, you'll fit right in.
What you'll do
- Design and build interactive games and animated experiences in Flutter from concept to release.
- Write clean, maintainable, testable Dart code that other humans can read.
- Build custom UI and rendering beyond standard widgets using CustomPainter, Canvas, and the rendering layer.
- Implement game logic, input handling, and animation systems that run smoothly across devices.
- Profile and optimize for performance, targeting a consistent 60fps and hunting down jank.
- Collaborate with designers and the rest of the team to iterate on feel, not just function.
- Take ambiguous or unfinished specs and turn them into working features.
What we're looking for
- Solid experience building and shipping apps or games in Flutter and Dart.
- Strong grasp of object-oriented programming: classes, inheritance, encapsulation, and composition, with the judgment to know when to use them.
- Comfort with state management (Riverpod, Bloc, Provider, or similar) and the ability to explain your choices.
- Experience with animations, gestures, and custom rendering. Drag, multi-touch, and collision handling beyond a basic onTap.
- Familiarity with performance profiling using Flutter DevTools and an understanding of the widget rebuild cycle.
- Disciplined memory and lifecycle management. You dispose your controllers and you know why that matters.
- A portfolio, repo, or shipped app we can actually look at.
Nice to have
- Experience with Node.js, Python & React
- Experience with the Flame game engine or building custom game loops.
- Understanding of game physics, sprite animation, or asset pipelines.
- Background in audio integration, shaders, or platform channels.
- Published apps on the App Store or Play Store.
